The mission of Ruki in the Forest is to provide activities that improve the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of participants through engagement in practical, creative and mindful nature based activities.
Ruth is a botanist, she studied plant sciences at university and has worked at Kew Gardens, Natural England and the National Trust. Her expertise and experience in this field is a definite asset to the partnership.
Kirsty’s background focuses on sport, dance and SEN primary education. She studied sport and physical education at university with a focus on pedagogy and has also taught dancing to all ages 2 - 80+ throughout her life. She loves to sing and dance and find different, interesting ways to facilitate the development of others.
Our main base for holiday clubs, workshops and groups is Three Hagges Woodmeadow in Escrick. This is an incredible 25 acre reserve comprising of a mosaic of woodlands, copse and wildflower meadows, now managed by Plantlife. There is an outdoor shelter 'Bodgers' Den', compost toilets, handwashing and a cabin.
